After watching the excellent new version of the film King Kong I felt that the game really would be very good. After seeing some adverts and trailers I really thought that this would be a game worth getting. I got this originally from Game for £20 which I thought was quite expensive but never the less I was eager to try it out. You can get this game for just £6.50 which really is an excellent price. The game was released in Novemember 2005 and has been available across multiple platforms including the PSP.
The first thing I thought the game did really well was have missions that really were based accurately on the film itself. It is a first person shooter game and the graphics really are excellent especially for a PSP console. There are cutscenes which really do look very realistic which really enhance the overall quality of the game. I will be honest, I didn't anticipate the game to be as scary as it was! I would really go by the age rating of this as 12+ because there were many things that made me jump.
I didn't like the fact that this game is single player only and I would have liked to have seen some multiplayer functionality within the game. However, the gameplay and the quality of the single player mode I think is enough to look past this disadvantage. The weapons really are very good and they are quite diverse giving teh gameplay more enjoyment, the sounds are also very realisitic. I really loved how in this game you can play as man and also play as king kong which again gives variety and enjoyment to the game.
I found that the game was generaly quick to startup and the game does offer a lot of gameplay hours. The lack of any form of multiplayer however does mean that the life of the game is somewhat limited. I really do thing that maps such as the Skull Island are really graphically presented very well indeed and it does look very realistic. I have really enjoyed this game but I think that £20 was too high a price, but considering you can now buy this for only £6.50 I would really recommend it. The single player really is excellent and is closely related to the film. I hope this was useful and thank you very much for reading.
In this epic adventure [a truncated version of the console game with 15 levels], you will experience the fateful legend of Kong from the perspective of both man and beast. Survive Skull Island as unwitting hero Jack Driscoll in first-person shooting action, and unleash the staggering power of the 25-foot-tall King Kong in third-person action sequences. Use everything in the jungle to your advantage, exploiting the natural food chain of the prehistoric predators and grabbing objects from the environment to kill those hunting you.
