Advantages: Old school games will never die now!
Disadvantages: None unless you didnt like the 16 bit era!
Now the psp being the brilliant hand held console it is has some super games available for it. All of them being new titles with brand new ideas and game play, meaning our child hood games unfortunately have to die with the times and consoles.
However all is not lost as we have been given another chance to rekindle some of these games.
Yes that's right the sega megadrive collection brings us some classics to our new generation of console. Rtero gaming has become ever more popular and as a result companies have realised they can make more money by bringing them back to us on the current consoles.
The box has some of your favourites on the front cover, characters such as Sonic, Shinobi, Virtua fighter, golden axe and phantasy star along with the megadrive logo dead centre! On the back you a list of some of the games and some info about unlocking even more games too.
So what games can we expect to find in this collection and what do they look like?
Well all of the games graphics are as they were 16 bit megadrive standard.
Although this looks a bit dated it is surprisingly fresh and almost new to see these games given new life. So onto the games and there are 27 of them too!
Sonic the hedgehog makes a welcome return just as you remember it, no 3d plain 2d graphics.
We see echo the dolphin return too.
Alex the kidd makes an appearance, although its one game that could have been left off.
Flicky, save those chicks from cats very old but still fun.
Vectorman, you're a green man made of spheres, weird but wonderful.
Virtua fighter 2, a great 2d fighting game that was all the rage.
Altered beast, quite frankly one of my favourite retro games on this collection.
Columns, the colour version of tetris really but made by sega.
Golden axe 1,2 and 3 are all on here.
Shinobi 3, the ninja stealth shuriken throwing game.
Phantasy star online, well three of them anyway.
There are just some of the games included on this brilliant combination.
You can have 2 player on a few games by using ad hoc mode (wireless)you can also game share on some of them too. This means only one copy of the game is needed to enable two people to play. Controls are pretty much as you would expect all copied from the old platforms.
Overall a great retro game brought up to date only by platform. The graphics and game play are all still the same and brilliant at that.
Love Megadrive, buy this game!!
Summary: Great collection of old megadrive games to re-live old memories!
