... straight away. I played it - and got even more excited! This is still space invaders - you play as a pixellated gun shooting pixellated aliens. But there are some changes. The barriers are gone - they aren't needed in this game. The aliens are less predictable and the game in general is faster paced. You also get special weapons such as a laser if you shoot down three same-coloured aliens in a row. Space Invaders has been done to death. There have been hundreds of Space Invaders releases/sequels/clones over the years - even the PSP has had one already! So surely, I thought when seeing this on the shelf, this wouldn't be any better. How wrong I was - this game is a brilliant reinvigoration of the Space Invaders franchise that I think it needed.. Anyway I didn't buy the game then, because I thought it would be rubbish, but I came across a trailer for it a week later and I was excited enough that I bought it straight away.
