Advantages: Lots Of Questions, Sound.
Disadvantages: Everything Else.
Where to start with this? Telly addicts is pretty much a repackaged version of the old TV show of the same name, the aim being for players to answers questions progressing through rounds to win points as they go along. The host of the game is Noel Edmonds, who is quite popular on UK TV hosting shows such as Deal or No Deal. With that in mind you'd think a prior experience in quiz shows would shine through in content, but with game it isn't so. Not even Noel Edmonds can save this game from being terrible, and once you've played it long enough you'll begin to find our host begins to get a little annoying also.
The idea behind the game is sound. If you'd consider yourself a telly addict (or even watch TV occasionally) you'd be able to participate in this game. It's marketed as a multiplayer game (either for friends or family), the fun being that you can compete to see who's knowledge will come out on top, in either one play through or best out of three. The questions are varied throughout the rounds, so fear not if you find yourself not able to answer questions on a TV show you've never watched, or actors/actress you've never even heard of. Infact, scoring some points is probably the easiest part. Finding friends or family who actually own this game to play with you is going to be the killer.
With multiple rounds, good questions, and clips from TV shows built in you'd think this would be a platform for success or maybe even crawl along at average. The execution is so poor you can't even grant it that. PSP titles are meant to be pick up and play, but I'd advise you to skip over this one. It can be fun for one or two play throughs, but when the PSP can run much more graphical games, you're left wondering why you'll encounter slowdown before clips. The sound however is what you'd expect. The sound alone won't save this game though. Avoid. 1 star.
Summary: Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
