I love watching Baseball on TV and I've also played a few Baseball games on various consoles so was quite excited to buy and try out The Bigs on my PSP. It was not advertised much but I managed to get it for about £10 so not too bad. Now that I've played it is probably one of the better Baseball games I've played with great graphics and even better gameplay. I've played some before that lack the realism but this seems to capture it pretty well. The good thing about this game is that it comes with a lot of features you can customise and make your own. This makes things much more fun and there are a few different options when you start the game. You can choose to just 'Play Now' which is an extremely simple game and it's 9 innings just like in real Baseball with you versus the computer. If you pick 'Exhibition' mode you get to pick the team, the jersey they will wear and number of innings you will play. You can also pick the stadium you want to play in and whether it's a day or night game. Probably the best part of this game is the rookie challenge. You are allowed to customise your player and pick the team you wish to play for. You then have to complete various challenges to earn points and build up your players' stats and career. You also make your way around the country and try to build the perfect baseball team by stealing players from different teams. You can get in some much needed batting practice by choosing home run derby option and see how many runs you can hit out the park for home runs. In the rosters section you can edit a team and create and edit a player. You are also allowed to make trades in this part. The controls are pretty easy to master which makes the game more appealing as you don't have to learn any complicated moves or combinations. The game has an awful lot to offer Baseball fans and sports fans alike and is great fun. For the price if you can get it for that then it's well worth it so give it a try.
