Advantages: Amazing plot, challenging gameplay.
Disadvantages: It's a PS1 port.
Valkyrie Profile first caught my attention as a game when the sequel was released on the ps2. I started to do research on the game, only to find out that it the original was a PS1 game, which was notoriously hard to find.
This PSP port was the perfect solution, and I bought it as soon as it was released.
This isn't your usual RPG, or strat. RPG. In most towns you navigate the town, purchase items at shops, and interact with the townsfolk to find your next quest. In Valkyrie Profile, your Valkyrie has so many turns that can be taken during any one 'period' as the end of the world is counted down to. Some of these turns must be spent to locate Einherjar, or Heroes, who will help Valkyrie both prepare for Ragnarok and discover her own mysterious roots. The rest are used to visit towns separately from the sky, or to visit dungeons for battle.
If you want a game that might move a little slower than some RPGs, but which still provide a hard challenge, Valkyrie Profile is for you. The graphics are beautifully rendered, making it the prettiest ported game I've seen so far.
Summary: Fantastic game, despite the fact that it's a port.

If you want higher ratings you need to add more info on things like what you do in the game (e.g. is it a RPG, First Person Shooter or a Strategy game?), the graphics (e.g. is there any slowdown, how do the characters look and what do the environments look like), the sound (e.g. soundtrack, effects, voice acting etc.) and how much content there is (e.g. how long did it take you to finish, were there any side missions and was there online play?).
