I love poker and having reviewed the games that were available for the PSP opted for this one, World Poker Tour. I've played quite a lot of poker online over the last few years, starting off playing sit n gos before moving onto cash games, just at low limits I might add. Not having played a poker game before, other than against other real people (online or against friends at home) I wasn't really sure what to expect really from this game. I thought anything that allowed me to play poker on the go, was worth trying and I thought it might even help me find holes in my game. Well, first impressions were the graphics were OK but nothing great. I ... Read the complete review

World Poker Tour is one of the many Poker video games around. Thsi si why you should consider buying it. You start the game by designing yourself. Picking what your player will look like. What his or her name will be. How they will dress. Even what accessories they will wear like sunglasses. There are different play options for solo play. You can select to quickly play a tournament or you can set off on a career mode. Plus, there are loads of different variations of Poker on here from the more common place Texas Hold 'Em or 5 Card Draw to Omaha, Tahoe and Shan. Where this game really excels is the online play mode. Turn on your WLAN ... Read the complete review

World Poker Tour is an ideal game for an on the go medium like the PSP, that can be best seen when you compare the PS2 version of this game to it - the PS2 version was an average game that you would not spend much time on. This game however, I played far too much and its because you can literally just pick it up play for 2 minutes or for 2 hours. As for the game itself, its the career mode that is the thing that makes you keep coming back. As you advance through the amateur and professional ranks to challenge the best poker players around, its hard to put down. The gameplay is of a good standard although computer players have a habit of folding if you raise it ... Read the complete review

World Poker Tour is one of the best PSP games I own. Possibly a biased opinion due to the fact I am a big poker fan, but even so, this game is excellent for learning somebody the basics, expanding your knowledge, or building up confidence and practicing without the need to risk lots of money in the process. This very fun game allows you to have quick practice games, or create your very own character, which can enter a kind of continuous tournament which follows as the games 'storyline' so to speak. The in game time generates a new tournament every week, with the option to buy in for big money, or to play one or two sattelites for a significantly reduced fee. After ... Read the complete review

A fantastic on-the-go game, can just be picked up and played for any length of time and put down again, such is the way poker is. This game is very addictive, play your way to the top against all the best poker players. There are many quality features and game modes that lead to hours and hours of thrilling gameplay. This game can be picked up very cheaply and yet provides so much entertainment, if you love poker like I do, you'll find yourself playing it all the time. It comes in handy on those long car, coach and train journeys - as long as you're no the one driving! Learn betting patterns, learn how to bluff and steal the biggest pots from the best ...
