Advantages: Fm radio, small size

Disadvantages: flimsy remote control

I’ve had the NX60V for nearly a year now, and have to say that I’m very pleased with it’s performance. I was looking for a tape machine with an FM radio that was as small as possible. After a lot of walking down London’s Tottenham Court Road, this one came out tops in the medium price range, and I was pleased that I made this choice.

It’s only slightly bigger than a cassette itself, and about twice as deep. Powered by just one AA battery, and not the standard two, the battery life is quite impressive, the sound is pretty good, although there’s no treble and bass control, just a '+5 bass enhancer’ button. Auto-reverse, AM/FM with presets and a digital display make up the rest of the features, and for me it does all that I require of it. Comes with a slightly flimsy remote control headphone adapter (which I don’t use) that lets you adjust volume and control tape direction, rewind and fast forward.

The case has become slightly scuffed over the last year, which is hardly surprising after it’s been kicking around unprotected in my work case. All in all, recommended as a small, fully featured unit.
