Advantages: Basic easy to use tape player, great for audio tapes.
Disadvantages: Quite big and uncool
Ok I know that cassette tapes became extinct a long long time ago with the arrival of cds and now 'downloads', even the name 'cassette tape' sounds old fashioned doesn't it. Even so many of us had built up a good tape collection and despite the two hour wait to rewind or fast forward to our favorite track were not going to give up the tapes easily. I am not an old granny by the way, I am under 30 and have an ipod like the rest of you but I also have a treasured library of tapes that bring back so many happy memories of my youth and I wanted something to play them on after my Hi Fi broke and my new one had a MP3 dock instead of a cassette player. I bought this Sony Walkman in Argos for £15.99 it came in blue and black too.
It is quite small and fits into my coat pocket or it does have a belt clip if I want to look really cool and attach it to my trousers.
It has a radio tuner AM/FM which is really easy to tune by a dial. It has the usual cassette holder and four buttons play, stop, rewind and fast forward. It comes with small basic black button headphones which are comfortable and give a good sound. There is a volume dial although for me it doesn't go very loud.
All in all a good basic tape player for a fantastic price. I would recommend it to everyone, dig out those old tapes and relive your younger days.
Summary: Perfect for childrens audio books, easy to use and a good price.
