chrisfried Sony Walkman WM-GX400: ... everyone needs a walkman nowadays. It?s true that cassettes are completely out of date. CD?s, mini discs, and MP3 players have taken over as the most modern media type. Hence one may ask why you would want to buy this supposedly out of date hardware. Well the answer is simple, it offers enhanced detail recording for brilliant recording quality. There are not many mini-disc or &...

... bought this walkman a few months ago after exchanging it for another sony which wasnt workin properly anymore. it cost me £84 all together(including £24 3-year warranty) so £60 for the walkman itself. it has many great features like rechargeble battery which lasts 17 hours(according to specifications),you can also add the extra bit in which you a fit 1 AA battery which lasts around 43 hours(according to specifications). you can skip 1, 2, 3 or 4 tracks @ a time considering they have @ least 1-2 second space in between them so that the walkman can recognise the end of the song. it has other features like repeat track, repeat tape, mega bass, groove and extra...

... bought this Sony walkman from Argos, the price was good at only £24.49. Very stylish, nice colour silver. Nice blue digital readout, but sadly lacking a backlight for night time use. The FM frequency tuning goes up and down in .5 increments instead of .1 I thought that Sony would have covered this. The mega bass is very very good indeed, this walkman included a "Hold" feature so you cant accidently change channel. The manual is pretty good and clear to understand. The walkman has the usual ST/MONO swith and also NORM/Cro2Metal switch and included is a seperate swith AVLS NORM/LIMIT this when in operation can cut down on a high noise. The cassette ...

... and the treble can be unbelievably harsh with the bass boost as this facility simply just artificially increases the frequencies at both ends of the scale. Fortunately though I have a pair of Sennheiser HD495 headphones which cost around £60 which I use with my HI-FI separates. With these phones with both the tuner and cassette the vocals sound natural if not entirely rich like it does on my Sony ST SE300 tuner. The guitars have a bit of crunch to them and the bass is perhaps a little weak but it never gets out of control. However if you use the bass boost then the bass goes all over the place, the vocals start screaming and the treble is harsh but the tonal balance ...
