Sony Atrac3/MP3 CD Walkman D-NE300 ... sony walkman is alot more costly than many other portable CD players, but is reliable and has additional abilities. I have had no problems with it what so ever and the sound quality is good. If you are hoping to listen to old CDs, which would otherwise be thrown away, as well as downloading new songs from computers on to it, then this is ideal. However, I think that it is better value to buy an ipod or mp3 player as well as a cheap CD player for the same price, as you can carry it around easily and run with it if necessary and you can listen to old CDs when you are on a train for example, which will not get stolen! Philips EXP 321 ... ve had this for a couple of years, I originally bought it because it was able to play mp3s from CDR and CDRW. Although I do have a dedicated mp3 player, I would rather listen to my CDs on this. I did find the mp3 navigation to be slow, and this wasn t helped by the limited display. Sometimes it takes a while to get started when it comes to CD playback as well, and it has the cheek to show OOPS in the display when this happens. I ve also had instances when, on playing an album again, a couple of seconds into the opener and the album jumps to the next track.
