If you're like me and prefer handling your music rather than merely transferring data, (geez, I'd be up for a portable mini vinyl deck with headphones if it was easily transportable!) this isn't a bad little runner. The reason I purchased this rather than the multitude of other portable cd players available at the time was the fact that it could easily play re-writable cd's, and more importantly could read mp3 data from a cd. Not having a computer with a cd burner would make this less useful, but then any mp3 player without a computer isn't so much fun.
