The sony walkman is alot more costly than many other portable CD players, but is reliable and has additional abilities. I have had no problems with it what so ever and the sound quality is good. If you are hoping to listen to old CDs, which would otherwise be thrown away, as well as downloading new songs from computers on to it, then this is ideal. However, I think that it is better value to buy an ipod or mp3 player as well as a cheap CD player for the same price, as you can carry it around easily and run with it if necessary and you can listen to old CDs when you are on a train for example, which will not get stolen! The Soney D-NE300 does the job when listening to music and looks attractive, however there are machines half the price which will do the same.

Summary: Only buy if you have plenty of money!
