Advantages: Great sound, great features, superb quality. Great price

Disadvantages: No backlit lcd

If your looking for ultra portability in cd players then look no further than the Sony.

Upon opening the small box, you find an even smaller cd player, along with instruction manuals, batteries, battrey case, bag and charger. All neatly packaged and presented well.

First off lets start with how small this clever little device is.
W127mm, D135mm, H18mm, so is basically slightly wider than a cd obviously to incorporate the hinge to flip the cd lid open/close. And is as thick as , well a cd case. So its ultra thin and easily fits anywhere, the other bonus to it being so small is that it is also super light too.
So moving on from the obvious advantages it holds over competitors what else does the Sony do that others dont?
Well the batteries of which there are two fit inside the cd player. Open the lid as you would if putting a cd in and you will fin a cleverly hidden compartment next to the laser. Here fits the two batteries, clsoe the cover and thats it. You never need to disturb them again! These batteries will give you over 50 hours of playback time, which is pretty good going considering how thin and small they are.
You can also have extra external battery power, this comes in the form of a tube which houses two AA batteries. This is not great as you have to have the dangling tube attached to your player. But its there for emergancies!

Next onto the inline remote, which can handle text. Its very clever indeed having all the buttons required to do everything on a tiny little stick. My only gripe is that the lcd is not backlit. This can be a bummer obviously at night.
The player itself has very few buttons on it but the best ones are underneath, these enable the jog protection feature. Sony is well known for this but have not really had it acknowledged properly. With the standard setting on 1 i could throw my cd player back and forth without it skipping once. When the setting is on 2 you could spin it round back and forth and up and down, and nothing happens. So this feature does what it says. A great feature included on this player that work amazingly well.
in the box you also get some in-ear headphones, although they are great you could do with a set that is better.
Other than this the player is exceptional, costing around £100 when i bought it which is more than a bargain.
It looks great, its tiny, its super light and to be fair is one of Sony's best. They can only improve on this model in future in terms of the inline remote, headphone quality.

Definately worth buying if you prefer to listen to cds on the move as opposed to mp3s.
This player definately has to be seen and heard to be believed!

Summary: A great sound superior quality and function cd player that is so small and light.
