Advantages: Very Stylish and Slim Size
Disadvantages: Maximum Volume just isn't high enough
---Overview---
Having such a large collection of CD's for some people means that using Ipods or minidiscs can make a whole collection obsolete. I for one still need a discman while I'm putting songs onto the computer or saving up for that more expensive MP3 player. This is where the Sony CD Walkman D-EJ885 comes into play. There are obviously a lot of discmans on the market, but this one manages to jump out at you that little bit more.
---Price---
At just under a hundred pounds this CD player is very good value if you want something to show off. It comes with a battey charger and remote control which helps ease the pain of handing over your hard earned cash.
---Quality---
Its up to the usual high standards I expect from Sony and also nicely packaged. One small issue is that when you have the volume to the maximum the bass starts to hiss and click, but this is very minimal and I've only noticed it on a couple of my CD's (perhaps its more down to music type than the actual discman). I would therefore advise if its available to listen in store to the sound quality before purchasing it.
---Style---
This discman is very stylish, its white and chrome exterior hark back to a kind of 1970's retro space feel, it manages to look very swish indeed. Adopting the usual minimalist feel it has very few buttons and would be a flash accessory to anybody's music activities.
---Conclusion---
This discman has a lot going for it style, price, a large range of features. The only drawback I would take into consideration is that it is too stylish and not functiontal enough, again having that extra bit for the maximum volume really would have helped. Another benefit is the battery life is very good (110hrs) and there is a cradle charger which allows it to recharge in about 30mins. If you still need to use CD's then this is a very good purchase, but if not I would seriously consider an MP3 player.

- 08/04/05 Nice review. I find CD walkmans a bit bulky and also you have to get a really good one with shock protection if you're using it on the move.
