Sony MD Walkman MZ-N505:
... MZN505 is one of Sonys early minidisc machines incorporating the NET MD, the first of which was the MZ-1. It charges a standard AA rechargeble, records and comes with a remote. I previously owned an MZR-500. In comparison, I am welcoming to the new NETMED function but am completely disappointed. First of all, no one told me that Id be waiting ages for an MP3 to convert to ATRAC before it is sent to the disc. O... Read the full review: Dont bother unless.... by dr_doolittle |

Sony MD Walkman MZ-N505 ... At about £200 the Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N505 provides a light compact and stylish solution to all your MP3 problems - well not quite!! The unit is about 70mm x 70mm x 20mm in size and is light enough that you will hardly even notice you have it on you. The device allows you to connect via USB to the your PC to allow recording of CDs about 5 or 6 times faster than normal and also the recording of MP3 files straight onto minidisc. The software provided allowing you to do this is the OpenMG Jukebox program which in a word is crap!! (More Later) The battery life of your normal rechargable battery is about 5 hours, but with a regular duracell, I have seen it last ab... Sony MD Walkman MZ-R500 ... may think from the title that I'm going to criticise this player alot. This is not true, although recently I have been having problems with it, although after 2 years of full blooded use, I have certainly got my money's worth out of it. JOG PROOF?? As a regular runner I needed something that wouldn't skip while running, hence buying this good looking MD with the G-protection, however it is only skip proof if you run with the MD in your hand rather than in your pocket where it can not cope with the jerkiness. The feature however is fine for walking or when your travelling (just as long as your not going too fast!!), although with no remote access, thi... Sony MD Walkman MZ-S1 ... product would easily score 5+ on the hardware and the concept, but is badly let down by the Sony OpenMG software. The software is the most unstable I have come across constantly crashing on Win XP despite all patches being applied and being uninstalled and re-installed (Its worth reading Sony's own music club message board for 100's of similar complaints). However the good news is you can use Real One or Netmd simple burner to download to your player. The concept is superb 4 hours of music on a disk (LP4) , a battery life of 50+ hours, the ability to group and sort music on a disc via the software (when it works). If Sony can sort the software out this wo... Read the full review: Sony MZ S1 by simoni |
