Like any other multi media player design by Archos, it is equipped with an exceptional screen that provides high quality photos and videos. The high quality display screen and large storage space is ideal for use whilst commuting or travelling but its fragile construction makes it vulnerable to drops, this along with the factor of its size makes it unsuitable to be used during sporting activities. After a slight drop, the player's HDD suffered substantial damage and stop functioning. I was looking for something to watch movies on and listen to music as I went travelling, and this certainly fit the bill. The device is larger than a typical MP3 player, it comes under the PVP (Personal Video Player) title, but the trade off is worth it for the screen size. On many occasions I had five or six people sat around watching a movie on it, so it's not just a personal device, as it can be enjoyed by a group of people; something that an iPod would struggle to do. I have an 80GB version of one of these. I got mine for £200 at Currys. This is a good product overall, it can be used to play music, video and view pictures and .pdf files. The player is fairly large due to the screen and has a good and sleek design. It can also be used as an external hard drive to back up files from your computer. Skins are available from the internet. There are a few problems: it cannot play .mpeg video files or video files with the audio AC3 format. You will have to convert .mpeg files and video files with the audio AC3 format into .avi files with audio mp3. ALso the battery life is quite short but overall the video and audio quality is good.
