I bought my Panasonic minidisc player a year ago and I have never regretted buying it. At the time it was the smallest MD player available, it might not be now but any MD player that is smaller will only be fractionally smaller. I have actually had people come up to me when I am in the labs and ask to see it and it's not difficult to see why! Physically the SJ-MJ70 is very small and light, barely bigger than a minidisc and not much heavier. Even now when I use it I can't believe how small and light it is, and given how quickly technology moves on I find it impressive that it is still as cool as the day I bought. The samll exterior dimensions are ... Read the complete review

If you have 200 quid to spare and want a quality portable mini disc recorder then try to get your sticky mitts on Panasonic's first mini disc recorder. The Japanese multi national corporation have stole the honour from Sony once more. Although I would generally recommend you go for a Sony model, this instance causes Panasonic to come first in the battle. The model comes up trumps with its sound quality which, is second to none and has a clear bass boost able to pump through any bodies eardrums. Panasonic has produced probably the most sexy Minidisc player the world has ever seen and it has been around for a while. It is one of the smallest models barely bigger than a minidisc itself. It doesn’t however have a recorder function. It cost about 200 quid I would say buy this but only if you have another minidisc player, eg a separate, so you have the ability to record mindiscs as this is what makes them so good. ... This is an excellent Minidisc personal player. It's small and the design isn't as ugly as those put out by Sony. Some Sony's are nice like the MZ-E75 and the new MZ-E900 which I would be hopefully buying next. Anyway I used this for about 7 months before it got nicked in the underground. Between than and now, I have tried various models : Aiwa HX-50, Panasonic SJMJ75 (good but it's just a rebuild SJMJ70 with new design and remote), Sony MZ-E75, Sharp MT866 etc, all which I returned! Nothing could replace the SJMJ70 in personality and sound quality until of course I test the new MZ-E900 (which I will probably buy next). First the size. when you picked it ..
