Advantages: Small, Sexy, Light, Strong battery life, Best budget earbuds ever! Disadvantages: 1 step bass, remote - not many functions
This is an excellent Minidisc personal player. It's small and the design isn't as ugly as those put out by Sony. Some Sony's are nice like the MZ-E75 and the new MZ-E900 which I would be hopefully buying next. Anyway I used this for about 7 months before it got nicked in the underground. Between than and now, I have tried various models : Aiwa HX-50, Panasonic SJMJ75 (good but it's just a rebuild SJMJ70 with new design and remote), Sony MZ-E75, Sharp MT866 etc, all which I returned! Nothing could replace the SJMJ70 in personality and sound quality until of course I test the new MZ-E900 (which I will probably buy next). First the size. when you picked it up you would just laugh! Man it's that small and light! The designs are cool with those circular grooves. It's easy to scracth though, no matter how much you try to avoid it, it will scracth one day! it's very sensitive. The built is very very sturdy. The battery life is excellent. I usually travel on holidays and once I used it for a 13 hour flight with full volume straight without changing batteries! The only time I switched it off was when I need to go to the restroom and order some wine. The earbuds are excellent! This is the best looking/sounding free bundled budget earbuds I have every receive. Not only does it sound good, it looks good as well. Sony though produce excellent groove earbuds, they usually give cheap bad sounding earbuds that looks like knock-offs with their players. The complain is the remote, which is small. I have to admit that Sony produces the most sleek looking remotes. The 2nd generation stick remotes by Sony are by war the best I have handled. Sound quality is good on the SJMJ70 though I was put off by it's 1 step bass at first. It was sufficient though. Good excellent all around player. Summary: |
