Advantages: Small and light, Good sound, easy to use
Disadvantages: easily scratched, not recordable
I brought this player nearly 2 years ago when it was quite highly rated, and recordable personal MD players were really top of the notch and very expensive. For this reason I went for the cheaper option, and was very happy with my purchase. It offered what I saw to be a high sound quality in a very slylish casing. It does however make it easy to use, as there are less functions (none recording related), and the manual is very precise and easy to understand and realate to.
I now have a MD system in my room, which really shows the difference in sound quality between the two. However this is to be expected as speakers are always more preferable, to headphones, but new headphones are reccomended for this model.
However, the player is looking a bit worse for wear now as the sleak silver casing is becomming more and more severly scratched up. When I purchased the played I didn't realise quite how weak and easily damaged the metal was. However, it does come with a protective bag, which if used should prevent against those unwanted scratches, which I being stupid did not use enough.
Overall however I would highly reccomend this player, as it offers reasnobaly good sound quality with style. If looked after well and treated with respect you could probably avoid all the scratches, if only you knew before it was too late (unlike me)It is not as if you need completely amazing sound quality anyway, is it?
This player will set you back about £120 but is well worth every penny (cheap compared to most on the market at the moment). You get amazing battery hours, which allow up to 88 hours of playback (8 with a rechargeable battery), and a very useful remote, which can be put on hold if you want to stop yourself knocking it accidenally. It is also great for all you fitness freaks out there as it is antishock. I have found this level of antishock to be fine for cycling, a gentle jog, or just in the gym. I am unsure as to the limit of shock it would take.
