This recorder is one of the best ever. It's built like a tank. Two of my friends bought this model after they saw mine. One of them left his on top of the car and needless to say it fell on the pavement but he ended up finding it and it still did everything the way it was supposed to. I love the huge display, and I love the small round remote as opposed to the stick. The front loading mechanism is one of the best features - i can change minidiscs while the it's in my pocket, there's nothing more portable than that. The amp is awesome. I've had many complaints from owners of sony players that they couldn't hear their music over chatter in the ... Read the complete review

To put it simply the Sharp MD MDS-722 is a rather pleasing little player with a surprising array of user friendly function. Aesthetically the MDS-722 is extremely eye-catching breaking away from the standard rectangular shape of the majority of portable Mini Disc players. It’s sturdy square appearance with a symmetrically balanced layout set around the central circular shuttle control not only makes it easy to navigate around, but also gives it a grandiose feel. This is backed up with a high quality build, which not only heightens the player’s overall visual impact, but also is highly reliable and strong. (I have accidentally dropped the player a ... This unit sports all the features you would expect from a high end player including an optical input which is a must for anyone who will want to do a lot of recording from CDs (just make sure that your CD player has the optical output). The unit is also very easy to use and commands are never more than three button presses away. The jog dial removes any need for repeated button pressing when naming tracks etc. The sound quality is superb and helped greatly by the good quality headphones. The in line control is very good and it includes a back-lit LCD screen. This prevents the need for suggestive pocket fumblings when on the move. There are a few lovely touches; when ... I purchased my MD new about four years ago. Then the prices were quite high and that was the latest model of Sharp. I know that Sharp has the rumor of making durable devices. I was a little bit dissappointed on that matter from my Md. I bought it new but maybe was one of these products that were reconditioned and sold like new on the High steet market. Well, even if it was like that, shouldn't be very much used since the model was only a couple months on the market. The reason i had these suspicions is that it started to give me trouble after 4-5 months of operation. It was skipping (clicking noises heard) portions on tracks and sometimes ... If anyone is looking for a good quality MD player at a reasonable price, this is defintely one that should be on their 'to look at' list. Also, if anyone is thinking of getting an MP3 portable, I'd advise them to have a look at this as well, mainly due to the ease of changing music when on the move - just slip a new MD in, rather than having to ind a PC to dock with, which may not be possible. It's not as small or as light as the recent models by Sharp and Sony, but is still reasonably small at 9 * 8 * 2.5 centimetres and 216 grammes approx, and very usable. Sound quality is good, it has 40 seconds anti-shock, battery life is acceptable, getting ... Read the complete review
