Advantages: One of the best in the mark, almost reasonably priced

Disadvantages: A tad expensive

This small, compact, sleek, silver...and aww, dreamy recordable MiniDisc player is one of the best portable MD players out on the market. And I won't lie to you, it is among the most expensive, at around £250.
Apart from this little baby (excuse me) being a bit of a looker, it has superb playback and recording quality, with excellent bass boost and other audio enhancing features, and per usual - the Sharp MD user interface system is a doddle to use; simple, efficient and clever, it won't take you long to figure how to use all of the features.
It also has a sample rate converter (so you get the best, or most de facto recording quality possible), and battery life is upto 18hrs (not bad for and MD)...and you do get an AC adaptor of course. The earphones produce a perfect sound, and the built in 'cute' remote control eliminates the need to always fiddle with the main unit (even though it's no hassle too, as the controls are minimalist, tidy and simple). It comes with all the cables you need and a nifty 'marbles bag' like...bag. Playback is a doddle, and recording from almost any source is a doddle (also note that if you're an MP3 collector, you can record your collections to MD's; it's much more efficient and cost-effective than a 'novelty' MP3 player too) too, especially with the ability to synchronise recording.
Oh, it doesn't come with *any* MD's blank, or pre-recorded, so make sure you buy a pack when you buy this. If you want to join the MD revolution (and indeed the MP3 one), then the best you can do is invest in this state of the art portable recordable MD player, and you can even hook it up to your hi-fi should you want to occasionally use it to fill that technological gap on your ageing hi-fi system. A recommended buy, but make sure you have the cash. Whatever MD player you buy, make sure it's recordable; and if possible, this particular beautiful one...*drool*. MD is a cool new standard;
be a part of it!
