But it's great! I bought this mainly due to its TINY size (79.1 x 73.8 x 19.9 mm and 117g with the battery in). It can go into a pocket and you will barely notice it is there. Each minidisc will hold roughly 165MB of songs. This is using the lowest audio quality setting of which there are three; 66kbps 105kbps 132kbps As you might have guessed as the numbers get bigger the number of files you can store on the disc falls but the quality of the sound goes up. To be honest I’ve never been too bothered about the quality of the sound so I’ve chosen to store more files, but I think that when you are listening through ... Read the complete review

I bought this mini-disc for one main purpose, which was to download live recordings onto a CD. Background Since moving into a new Church I have been involved in the recording of the services and live music concerts. The equipment put into the Church was a mini-disc and a tape. The services are recorded onto tape and the mini-disc is only used as a backup. I soon became clear to me that the mini-disc was of superior quality; unfortunately the facilities to transfer from mind-disc to CD were not in place. My Brief I then took it upon myself to investigate portable mini-disc and decided to buy one. I did this so that I would be able ... Read the complete review

This portable mini-disk is so good I have ended up with two! This is mainly my fault as I discovered when I was on the beach during sumemr time listening to the crisp quality mp3s which I had downloaded from my computer to the minidisk. I made the mistake of opening the machine up to change the disk, unfortunatly it wasnt just the new disk which i put inside. Just a few grains of sand had crept into the door mechanism and had managed to jam the locking system to keep the door in place. Sony have a tendancy to rip people off when it comes to getting repairs so I figured it would cost less to buy a new machine. I took a look around at the other products on the market and ... The Sony MZ-N1 is the top of the range sony net MD, they have made a Mini Disc that is just like a MP3 player download tracks of the internet on to the Mz-N1. It is not as small as the panasonic but then it does a hell of alot more than the panasonic you can record in LP2 LP4 (Long Play) in the LP4 mode you can get about 4 or 5 albums on one disc. the player itself is a recordable unit so you can use it in meetings as a dictaphone just plug in a mic and you are away or plug in a cable into the line in port and record you songs straight on the the mini disc can not get any more easy. On the unit its self you have the sony jog dial for easy track ... Read the complete review

I was the owner of an old sony MD recorder for close to 5 years. Sadly this product died recently and thanks to an extended warranty I was able to get a new machine upto the value of the original. The MZ-N1 was the only choice. I have been the proud owner of this for 6 months now. Magnesium body, solid door mechanism and tiny in size compared with my old brick shaped recorder. In the box you get an excellent remote control, optical lead for home stereo recording, rechargeable battery and dry battery pack. The rechargeable's run for about 60 hrs so it is unlikely you will make much use of the screw on battery pack. A nifty leather wallet is also ... Read the complete review
