The MZN505 is one of Sonys early minidisc machines incorporating the NET MD, the first of which was the MZ-1. It charges a standard AA rechargeble, records and comes with a remote. First of all, no one told me that Id be waiting ages for an MP3 to convert to ATRAC before it is sent to the disc. On my laptop it took a couple of minutes per track saving me time on labelling tracks but thats it. Ok, now that's out of the way, some comments on the MD player - for straightforward, good quality sound from a MD player - it's excellent. I've not gone into the full functions of the player as yet - as I say, I've not even read the manual. Some downsides though: Included software is awful! And would also prefer the headphone remote to have an LCD screen But the plus points: The MD player itself seems very straightforward to use, the buttons do exactly what they say, the sound quality is great and it's yet to skip a beat. But to use the software? Well ... Read the complete review
