The MZN505 is one of Sonys early minidisc machines incorporating the NET MD, the first of which was the MZ-1. It charges a standard AA rechargeble, records and comes with a remote. I previously owned an MZR-500. In comparison, I am welcoming to the new NETMED function but am completely disappointed. First of all, no one told me that Id be waiting ages for an MP3 to convert to ATRAC before it is sent to the disc. Well I bought my Sony MZ-N505 about a month ago and WOW!, I just don't know how I lived with out it before, now I know other people say this but I really do mean it!. I owned a MZ R55 and I thought that was great and if truth be said I still think the sound and definition takes some beating and unless you have a very very very keen ear you will not tell the difference between most md players, well unless you go for a cheaper brand like Goodman's or JMC and then you will!.
