I bought one of these MD players a couple of years ago now and it's still going strong and sounding as good as ever. Everything about the features and asthetics smacks of class and sophistication. However the headphones have caused me problems. I've had to replace two sets because the thin wire has worn through to the metal and then stopped working altogether. On both occasions when the wire has worn out Sony have replaced the headphones because they were under guarantee. To "buy" a replacement set I was told would cost £50 and that doesn't include the remote, just the earplugs and thin wires. The sound quality is excellent with these ... Read the complete review

I recently got one of these these lovely things for my birthday (awwww) and having sneaked a look at the receipt, I can tell you that perfection now comes at quite a reasonable price. The sound is brilliant, even when you're recording from the headphone output of a computer - it's a good way to make copies of all your MP3s without having to buy lots and lots of memory sticks. The Minidiscs themselves are now very cheap, with one place (Discount Discs) selling them at just over £1 each. And considering each disc can hold as much music as a 64MB memory stick for MP3s, I think you can work out for yourself which is better value. So all in ... Read the complete review

The Sony MZ R90 mini disc offering us high quality sound (expected since its by Sony and of course the price tag) that comes with a nickel metal hydride battery giving approximetly 12 hours of listening time and 6.5 hours of recording time also it takes a maximum of 3 hours to recharge these batteries, you can also use a normal AA battery that you put in the battery pack supplied, also get good quality earphones and backlit LCD remote control which i like the best(alot more convenient). The smallest MD around at the moment which can easily fit into your pocket and easily record your favourite music onto a MD disc(about £1.00 for one) giving you crystal clear ... I must be getting old, I remember cassette tapes, you know those small plastic things that seemed to implode at the most in-opportune moments and normally your favourite album as well. They had their good points too, very small, light and easy to use with the ability to make your own recordings and that was the killer feature. For a while there has been an obvious gap in the market for a recordable potable format, you can record CD?s but only once and in a CD burner which at present are mainly found on your PC and the poor old cassette has been left somewhat behind in the digital revolution. Phillips did try and drag it kicking and screaming into the ... Read the complete review

MP3 players, every one is talking about them, they're are the centre of cool and controversy (free music on the net). But are they just a fad? Will the tape and minidisk win the personal stereo war? Read on to find out... The first thing I noticed was the small size of the player. Very compact with lots of features. So initially I was very impressed. It just slides into your pocket without a big lump that sticks out. The sound isn't bad either, in fact, I thought it was very good. Its much better than carry a personal CD player around, which jumps and stops every time you move. How ever, I'm not very patient with computers, thats where the ... Read the complete review
