... the side of the unit is pretty dodgey now. Its very loose and floppy once it has been open, but once its closed it stays closed, so you don't have to worry about you battery falling out and your music stopping in the middle of the track. The remote controls volume/track changer has gotten a bit stiff. I know it could be my fault as I have dropped and stepped on my remote countless times (I got it trapped in-between the wheels of my bike once). Anyway it still works fine, its just not as 'new' Remote -----...more

Crowned Review Sony MD Walkman MZ-R900: My Old MZR 900 (1465 words)

Two years ago my dad went to Japan on business and knowing that electronics there are so much cheaper I asked him to buy me a minidisc player. In the weeks before he went I was searching the Internet for information about minidiscs, trying to decide which one I should get. The site I found most helpful on my search was minidisc.org From that site I decided on the Sony MZ R900 or the Sharp MD MT77. They both were rival products, with the sharp coming with a charging stand but the Sony unit with a longer battery life and supposedly better sound quality. My dad went to Japan and bought me the Sony MZ R900. He bought it instead of the Sharp MT77 because it was on sale! £150 ...  Read the complete review

IT WAS A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. TWO MEN, A WOMAN AND A YOUNG GIRL DIED IN THE TRAGEDY THAT HAPPENED OFF THE COAST OF LONDON, ENGLAND ON NEW YEAR'S DAY. AMONG THE DECEASED, SIDNEYGEE, A FELLOW POSTER AT DOOYOO.CO.UK WHO I'VE ALWAYS ADMIRED. WHEN I WAS INFORMED OF SIDNEY'S DEATH EARLIER TODAY I WAS CONFUSED. I WAS OVERCOME WITH FEAR AND ANXIETY, AND IMMEDIATELY INFORMED MY WIFE WHO BURST INTO TEARS. SIDNEY WAS A GOOD MAN, AND IF HE'S LISTENING FROM HEAVEN, HELL OR PERGATORY, LET ME TELL YA BUDDY I'VE ALWAYS BEEN INSPIRED AND WARMED BY YOUR COMMENTS. THEY LEFT ME WITH A FEELING OF ACCEPTANCE THAT BROUGHT TEARS OF JOY TO MY EYES. I LOVE YOU MAN! ...  Read the complete review

It was my birthday and to my great surprise and joy I was given a sony MZ-R900.This is a minidisc player. In case you don?t know what a minidisk is, it is a revolutionary invention by Sony.A minidisc is a 2.5" square cartridge with a digital optical disc inside. It is designed for recording music onto and can be recorded over 1 million times without a loss of sounds quality! Most minidiscs can hold 80 minutes of music on them in normal mode. Anyway back to the minidisc player. The Sony MZ-R900 is available in silver or blue (mine is blue) and will fit in the palm of your hand!It is extremely light too!As soon as I received the minidisc player I ,naturally, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mostly Good (571 words)

Having considered the similarly priced Sony model with radio included I was dissappointed to discover that the radio was contained completely in the headphone remote and the only reason for connection to the minidisc unit was for battery. Therefore I decided to go fo the purely minidisc model and hopefully achieve better sound quality. This is by far the best sounding minidisc player I have ever owned. I have previously held models by Aiwa and Sony. The sound quality is excellent whether through a stereo amp or headphones. The problem with this particular model is that the headphones included in the original package do not do the machine justice. They ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sony MD Walkman MZ-R900: The little demon (238 words)

This little devil or a unit was first bought to my attention at a local dixons store in the south west UK. I have always wanted one and the salesman told me it was 'the best one around' so I purchased it. Since then I have enjoyed not only the walks to university every morning but also the added function of being able to copy songs I have downloaded from the Internet. Not many will know that a simple PC and headphone socket can provide a simple solution to the costly MP3 players on the market with their exspensive memory cards! The added funtion of MDLP has enabled me to enjoy hours ok music on a single disk, although the quality is lowered with this I have it ...  Read the complete review
