Advantages: Very sleek and stylish, and very easy to use.

Disadvantages: Doesn't have a jog dial, and loads up slower then MZR - 55

As you probably know the MZR-55 was a best seller and was one of the best Sony have ever brought out.
However, unlike the MZR-55, the 91 is sleek and stylish. It is smaller and more efficient than the MZR-55. The battery lasts 25 hours or longer with a single AA battery and NiMh rechargeable battery. I bought the 91 because it looked unique and was efficient.

The stylish oval LCD and the smooth carbon like metal gave the 91 a shiny look. Every time I ejected the MD, from the 91, it opened with a bang. The MD popped out as soon as I touched the eject switch. In the 55's case, I had to pull the disc out after I pushed the eject button.

The good part with the MZR-91 is that it is stylish, sleek, and glossy. The battery adapter takes only 1 AA battery, instead of 2 AA battery for the 55. Also, I like the size of the 91. Put two MDs, inside its case, on top of each other. Two MD cases piled up is the size of the 91. How big is it? Well, it is big as a whole MD! Therefore, the 91 is thinner and smaller than the 55! The remote is transparent and only 1/4" thin! The 55 had the bulky cylinder shaped remote.

The only bad part is that it takes a long time to name a song since it does not have a jog dial. Also, it boots up a half or full second slower than the 55. In addition, it does not have a digital optical cable or analog cable to use to record off an audio source. However, the drawback is negligible because the battery seems to last forever on a single charge at least two to three times longer than the 55!

Ok, the box have the unit itself, the thin transparent remote, 1 rechargeable NiMh battery, a 3V AC adapter, a pouch for the unit, and 1AA battery adapter. The box is very small with a whole package in one!

I suggest if you can't be bothered to buy a Mini Disc stereo, buy the MZR-91 as it is sleak and stylish and it is a lot cheaper then a stereo and has just as good recording facilities apart from a few d
ifferences. So if you haven't got a MD walkman buy this as it is from the makers of the MD and is one of the best MD recorders on the market. However if you have got a recorder on your stereo I suggest you do not waste your money on this as the players are all you will need.
