Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N510

This has been my buy of the year, with my hard earned money I decided I wanted the ultimate upgrade in music listening devices and went out shopping. After a couple of days consideration and I got this MD recorder/player and am not one bit dissatisfied. With facility to compact 320 min of stereo sound I found this alone useful but then it gets better, up to 32X speed uploading what more could you want???? Well tough you get more, there is also a very good package of software which unlike what I first thought was going to be, well not as good. It has all the cool facilities from being able to edit the names manually to looking on the CBBD database of CD?s. A lot of time saved.

For those who are uncertain about what an mp3 is, basically it is a digital encoding of sound which takes away all the inaudable information that the human ear can not hear. This has caused an argument because it is claimed within the music industry that it degrades the quality in music but personally I do not believe that there is any degrading of the quality and if it is it is very hard to detect.

This mini disk player has the usual functions such as labeling the tracks, etc but with the added advantage where you can also make folders on the disks so you can add multiple albums, this allows the ability to skip albums and not go through loads of tracks of a disk.

The sound quality of digital recording is great and I have even found that when running the mini disk has not skipped once, this is especially benificial to know with the new ear upon al you fitness freaks out there.

The other facilities could go on forever. Another excellent point I have found is the software support and the little bonus? where you can go online and download little tools like printing tools for MD labels.

The lifespan of the battery is great too, I use my mini disk constantly and i have had an ordinary AA battery i it for at least the
last two weeks, which can not be bad.

It is a great little gadget and I would thoroughly recommend people to buy this if they have to buy one gadget of the year.

basically the deal with MP3's is that it is an encoding format that takes away the sound that the human ear does not pick up, therefore reducing the space required for the music. The big debate within the music community with this is that although it is not audible by the human ear, musicians still complain that it does not sound as good as the original.

I'm still not entirely sure how MP3's work... Chris x
