Apple iPod shuffle (2G) 1 GB ... didn t realise I wanted or needed an iPod Shuffle until the very helpful assistant in the Apple Store told me so! And......................I m not sure if he was an extremely good salesman, or he had really listened to me, or both.................but he was so right! I run about 30 miles a week on a treadmill. I used to run with my iPod classic in my pocket and of course one day, the inevitable happened. To be fair, it wasn t the first drop onto the treadmill belt which killed the Classic, but the second drop from the belt onto the concrete floor. Apple iPod shuffle (2G) 1 GB ... is good quality sound and it is easy to use which is great given that we have bought this for a young boy. It is incredibly small measuring around 3cm across! It is really light, clips onto clothing for security and looks incredibly neat. I am unsure about how tough this little gadget is, however it looks sturdy and well made and I hope it will stand the tests of a 6 year old! Bear in mind this is a 2nd generation model and apple recently launched their 8th generation - but for value for money its difficult to beat this one as the new smallest version retails at £45 for 2GB. Sony Bean NW-E207 1 GB ... bean is so cute, mine is pink and i love it. I use it when im running as it just slips into my pocket, stick it on shuffel and off i go. It is really just a basic MP3 player, there aren t any special functions that i know about but it is still nice and simple to use. The disply however is quite small and when its scrolling the song title it doesn t always get to the end before going onto the screensaver which can be annoying. the lock on it is also quite weak so i often find it playing in the bottom of my bag so when i need to use it the battery is dead.
