Indoor recordings are fine, though the usual principles apply - get the recorder within a couple of feet of the speaker, and closer to the sound source than the nearest walls for best clarity. Philips GoGear SA2820 2 GB ... purchased this from my local supermarket, for the (don t leave it there) price of just £12.95. Since then i have used it every day, and have no complaints. The sound quality is good, excellent download speed, is easy to use, has basic and uncomplicated features, and its reliability, and durability, is second to none. It also has the added feature of being rechargable! Add to this, the price, and you are on to a winner here. There are better MP3 s out there, but if its value for money your looking for, then look no further! Apple iPod shuffle (2G) 2 GB ... is a very nifty and small piece of mp3 equipment, now i have used massive mp3 players with 80gb memory and infinite capacity for songs, but when i discovered this i thought i d give it a go. What i realised is that the less space you have, the more you discriminate with your music and you tend to pick only the best songs in your playlist. Basically you realise you dont need 80gb+ to listen to music! This shuffle doesnt let you pick which song you put on, but thats the whole point, your not supposed to, so when a particularly good song comes on, its a suprise, and you appreciate it more. Apple iPod shuffle (2G) 2 GB ... finally time to go digital. Not really knowing what to go for, I asked a few people. The answer was unanimous. iPod. The problems were a) my reluctance to spend money on anything; and b) my dislike of Apple s branding. I resolved to go for the cheapest iPod I could find, but ended up getting the second cheapest: a second generation 2GB Shuffle. Not one of the fancy new ones that talks to you (why would I want an MP3 player to talk to me? What could it have to say?), just a simple device to drown out the awful, awful noises made by other human beings as I travel to and from work every day.
