Advantages: Small and lightweight, long playback from a single battery

Disadvantages: Poor display, hard to get used to user interface

At first glance, the thin Aigo A215, the finish of the product gives it a rather cheap and tacky appearance. One of the main issues with it is the fact that it does not have a built in battery, hence making it not rechargable. Instead, it is powered by one standard AA battery. This may seem a like a setback, but on average one battery has been able to power the player continously for 38.5 hours. It could be seen as an advantage because the AA batteries can be purchased from almost any highstreet store.

Trying to operate the player would reveal its complicated menus and functions, this is made worse by the buttons which are place in awkward places, making it hard to press them. There is also slugish respond.

Its display is quite small and hard to read, the menu and words are hard to see due to the small words/text size.

On the file aspect, it does support MP3, WMA, and also WAV formats, making it quite flexible.

The files can be transfered via drag and drop using window explorer. On average it takes about 0.65 sec to transfer 1MB, however it does not support USB 2.0, and is only compatible with USB 1.1.

It terms of its robustness, it is produced quite well. When purchased no other accesories are supplied to store the player. A small case would be ideal.

It does have a easy to understand instruction manual, CD containin the drivers and a getting started booklet.

Very good and precise information, a lot of the stuff I should have included in my MP3 player review.

VU from me. :)

Welcome to Dooyoo

Good review.

I had a similar one like this from the now defunct Woolworths. Lasted a few years and it came with five preset sound settings all of which didn't make much of a difference between one or the other. Still, these kinds of players are ideal as a start out.
