Advantages: sound quality, features - mp3,SD, radio and recorder

Disadvantages: Headphones/remote, build quality

I have had this mp3 player for over a year now and I think its probably one of the best purchases I have made. However, its not perfect...When I first got it I was a little dubious about its quality (Its all plastic). I have had some problems with the on and off button which sometimes gets stuck and you have to try a few times to get it to work. Also the battery cover is extremely flimsy. Forget about using the head phones that come with the player as they are pretty cheap. I replaced them with a decent set of headphones and sound quality is miles better (I haven't heard another mp3 player with better sound). Unfortunately the remote only accepts a mini headphone socket so unless you are happy with using an adaptor then you may as well stop using them too. However, its not that geat and degrades the sound quality. You can't read mp3's which are stored in folders and all mp3's/wma's have to be placed in the root directory which is a little annoying if you have lots of files. Also firmware is not upgradeable.

On the plus side with decent headphones the sound quality is great, the battery lasts ages and its extremely simple to use. If you attach it to a computer the player automatically powers itself from the computer without draining the battery. The menu/control system is extremely easy to use and you will not be missing out on any functions. The SD card port works fine and is great for expanding its capacity. The radio works fine and quality is ok. The in buit recorder is superb - I have taken it to lectures and meetings in my pocket and have been able to record everything that is said in unbelievable clarity. The player comes with some nice little extra toys - extra cables, carry case and even a phone tapping kit! Its also great for storing other files - videos, word documents etc.

Almost a year on and the player still works fine. I have accidently dropped it a couple of times (once from a pretty high distance) and it alway
s manages to work again. So the build quality cannot be too bad. For the price that I paid for it (£115, eleven months ago) I don't think that you could get anything better for the price or have all the features in such a small package.

If you can get over the minor points with this player then I would definately recommend this to anyone.
