Advantages: Cheap, good for music.

Disadvantages: Pretty paltry if you want a decent amount of video content.

Everyone knows what an iPod can and cannot do, so I'll concentrate on the most important difference here - storage.
The iPod 30GB seemed like a huge upgrade from the previous 20GB model ("it's, like, 50% more music, woah!"), but when you factor in the video capabilities, it's not quite so impressive. If you're using it solely for music, then 30GB should be enough for the average listener and the 160GB models are something of a waste. However, if you like to watch tv shows and movies while travelling, you might find yourself running out of space quicker than you think, and it can be quite a pain to keep transferring videos to and from your iPod. And isn't that the point of an iPod, to have everything in one place for easy access?
In short, if you want a cheaper model for music only, this is fine, but if you're looking for video capabilities, get something a little bigger.

Summary: Has both its advantages and disadvantages.

What's the sound quality like and what mixer features does it have to boost the sound quality (if any)?
