Advantages: Great sounds quality

Disadvantages: Not good with Microsoft, and battery life too short

The Apple Ipod, When it first came out, everyone wanted it. It was not just a marvelous piece of Musical technology, it was a style icon. So like every on else, i went and bought myself, an Apple iPod for $600.

At first glance, the iPod looked awesome, and from what i had heard, the sound quality was amazing. I got it home, and installation was fast and simple. and soon i downloaded, 1500 songs into my ipod, and this took around 15 mins. (very fast). Once i had downloaded it, i tried it out, the sound quality was everything i had hoped and more, the music was clear, unlike anything before. I mean i had heard the same song trough huge speakers, and various other headsets, but nothing came close to the clarity of the music that the ipod delivered. I was super happy. As time went by, i soon started seeing the bad sides of the iPod. Firstly, the iPod does not come with a AC charger, which means everytime i need to charge my iPod, i had to connect it to a PC, and not just any PC, my PC, or else all the songs in the iPod would be erased. (happened a couple of time). As i travel alot, this is a great disadvantage.

Then, came the next hurdle, when i connected it to my PC, all of a sudden, i got some firmware error message, and all of a sudden my iPod was not working. I got the ipod replaced by a new one (warranty for an year). The new one had the same problem, and the samething happened. I was very frustrated and finally got it fixed.
The other thing that also later on hit me was that the ipod has only about 500 recharges available in each battery, and after that, the battery has to be changed, and this costs more than a new ipod itself. as a whole, the iPod is a great music machine u can say, but has numerous drawbacks. If you have an apple system then i strongly recommend this product, but for a Microsoft user, i really think, this is not the way to go... not worth the money then..... Hope the info helps....

Summary: People with apple systems, go for it, but if you use Microsoft, stay away from it.
