I've had my 80GB Apple iPod for just over a year now, and have very few complaints to make about what is otherwise and extremely stylish, attractive and efficient product. Despite originally refusing to buy into the iGeneration cult and avoiding the iPod, I eventually found that there are just not that many comparable products on the market that can offer the same level of beautiful design and enviable space at a reasonable price.

The picture and video quality is very good considering the size of the screen, although brightness can be slightly low when watching very dark footage, making images difficult to see. The menu and click wheel is easy to understand and quick to operate. The lock function at the top of the player enables you to make sure that your tracks don't skip or your player doesn't stop if it gets knocked when it's in your bag or similar.

If anything, I prefer the 5th gen iPod to the most recent model, both in terms of design, and also upon discovering that the subsequent classic models have locked the player's capability to connect the iPod to a television and play video through a TV. While the 5th gen still enables you to connect the player if you acquire the necessary cables that are relatively cheap to procure, the later models are locked so that it is necessary for you to buy a specifically designed iPod dock for the privilege, at a much higher cost. In that sense, the older model is far superior.
