Ipod classic made me a fan! (Apple iPod classic 120 GB)

I used to absolutely hate everything about Apple and their Ipod. I used to have a Toshiba Gigabeat 40gb which unfortunately broke. I looked around for ages for something to replace it and this was the only thing with the capacity I needed as I have alot of music.
I reluctantly purchased one last December fully expecting it to live up to my low expectations. Boy was I surprised.
The Ipod itself is beautifully made and you can tell the quality of the build by holding it. It is quite small and light considering it can hold so much. It is much smaller than my old one.
The firmware is intuitive and easy to use as are the games and other downloadable extras. The screen is good quality and I watched an entire series of 24 on it without any major problems. The only troublesome thing is in the sun the reflections can make seeing the screen a challenge and it does scratch easily, a case is a must.
I would reccomend getting some other earphones as the ones supplied aren't really up to the job for a serious music fan.
My Ipod actually froze a few weeks ago and wouldn't do anything even when plugged into the computer so I thought that was it. However when I tried again once the battery died it just reset itself and, given a format through Itunes was absolutely fine and as good as new. Needless to say I was impressed by that.
One thing I always objected to was that this will only work with Itunes and not Windows Media Player and at first I thought this would be a major stumbling block but given a couple of weeks I got used to Itunes and now use it without a seconds thought.
The Itunes store is a pitfall, how can they justify charging for BBC programs? I thought I paid my licence fee for them!

All in all owning this has turned a true Apple hater to an absolute fan and I have since bought one for my partner and my in-laws and everybody loves them!
