Advantages: good sound quality, easy to use.

Disadvantages: not as cool as the touch but we'll see where that goes :)

Ahh, remember those days where you carted around a portable CD player and a stack of CDs to listen to... on long car journeys my travel bag was always half full of CDs I knew I wanted to listen to. I don't know about anyone else but frankly I was a little weary of it.

And then the iPod came along. Shiny. New. Exciting.

Before I had the good fortune to own an iPod, I had a 256mb mp3 player. It was awful. I think it only held 12 songs or something. Anyway when I got my mitts on a beautiful iPod (my first one being a pink iPod mini) I was overjoyed. A lovely display to tell me what I was listening, iTunes to help me sort my music. The first iPod died and I was iPod-less for a good 6 months until my mum bought me a new one for Christmas, the 120G classic.

Now there are people out there who will cry "Why not pick the iPod touch?" and while I admit that the touch screen is much cooler and the screen is bigger to watch films etc on, I prefer my classic because there is so much more memory on it. I own a lot of music and love watching films or TV shows on my ipod and it's always good to have a big choice while you're on the go.

And frankly, I don't think there's anything I own that I get more use out of. I listen to music in the morning,, on the train to university, walking to classes, coming home, when I'm studying and falling asleep at night to some soft sounds of Jose Gonzales. So if you're like me and love music and film and want a big choice, then you know the iPod classic is for you. The sound quality is great and the use of iTunes is easy and straightforward.

Plus there's even a few games on it to keep you entertained. Who can't love the classic Solitare?

Once apple bring out a big memory version of iPod touch, I might head over that way but until then, I'm sticking with my classic :) Plus there's no guarantees that they'll ever do that.

Summary: If you don't have one then you're probably in the minority right now.

The iPod is probably the best value for money music player on the market. Unfortunately mine was faulty within 24 hours of owning it and had to get a refund!

Good review!
