Advantages: Great quality, good build, Looks beautiful, great functionality

Disadvantages: Scratches easily, canot be used during sport due to its size.

Firstly I must start by saying that even I, myself am surprised that I bought an iPod classic. I used to thing it was just an ugly large mp3 player, no different to the others, just made by apple. I had originally planned to get the iPod Nano, the old version, with the scroll wheel and the camera. However, Mr Steve Jobs, decided he was going to change it, and I absolutely hate the new iPod Nano so therefore I decided to buy it's big brother, the iPod classic. Firstly, it is absolutely beautiful, it comes packaged in the traditional white minimalistic design of apples packaging. The iPod on top of the box, with the headphones, USB cable, and dock adaptor tucked away in little compartments, as well as the traditional user manual, warranty information and Apple Stickers. It has a silver front with a large scroll wheel at the bottom, which you use to navigate through the iPod, and at the back is a mirror finish. This is absolutely beautiful, however, I do recommend buying some sort of case or sleeve for it as the back scratches very easily. It is a great little device with tonnes of memory. The user interface is amazing, it is simple to use and provides great sound quality. It was easy to transfer my music through the USB cable after I had it synced with iTunes. The click wheel is very simple you to use, it feels natural, however sometimes you do accidentally scroll past the song you are looking for. It is easy to navigate your way through, albums artists and songs using this simple, but genius method. It is especially useful in cover flow. Cover flow is a fantastic feature which puts all your albums with album art into one menu to make it easier to find. However, this can be frustrating if you do not have album art on your songs, it can also be tricky to use if you have a large collection of music as it sometimes slows down (lag) and freezes, but this is because it uses a physical hard drive to stor your songs onto rather than flash memory. The re is also a genius feature, this analyses your songs and makes a playlist of similar songs that it thinks you want to listen to next. It's a bit like having a DJ in your pocket. The screen is superb for its size. It produces crisp, clear images and is very bright. It's perfect for watching movies on aeroplanes.

Overall it is an amazing product, not only is it a good music player, but plays excellent videos and also has mini games.

Summary: A definite recommendation for anyone looking to store a large music collection
