Advantages: Simple, easy to use interface with lots of available accessories.

Disadvantages: Everyone has one!

People often criticise Ipods and opt for the alternatives such as a Creative Zen or a Sony MP3, but in my opinion, you cannot beat an Ipod...Especially an Ipod Classic.

If you want ease of use, high amounts of storage, sound quality and a large range of accessories then you are definitely looking in the right place.

Storage
The 160GB model Ipod has the capacity to hold up to 40,000 songs in 128-Kbps AAC format, up to 25,000 iPod-viewable photos and up to 200 hours of video, I for one, most certainly cannot quite fill mine!

Quality
Although the included Apple Ipod earphones are not high standard, with the purchase of some decent headphones you most certainly will not be complaining when it comes to sound quality. The ipod can hold music files in all different kinds of quality and you are not just restricted to the 128-Kbps that most music files come in, so if you want to listen to that Mozart really loud or the intricate melodies of Guns 'n' Roses then the Ipod can make it possible. (Although I'm not entirely sure how you'll manage the second.)

The Build quality is also nothing short of outstanding. I have owned Ipods ever since the 3rdGen and I have never had to replace one cause of breaking or it becoming faulty. I have only ever updated out of simply wanting the newer, prettier model.

Accessories
This is where the Ipod comes into its own. With the large range of Ipod specific accessories now on the market, I cannot simply think of why you would choose any other kind of MP3 player instead of this one. If you want to share your music there's the Ipod Dock, or if you want to make you Ipod pretty, there's the Ipod sock...there really is a choice for everyone.

The Ipod classic is a work of art and in my opinion looks a lot more stylish than the newer Ipod Touch - and with better battery life, a bigger Hard Disk and a more user-friendly interface, I really can see no reason to choose any other.
