Lovely little thing! (Apple iPod classic 80 GB)
Member Name: poor-student-89
Advantages: Lightweight, slim, lots of memory, easy to use Disadvantages: Maybe too much memory for some people! And some of the features not that good, genius etc Best christmas present I've ever had! Was never very interested in ipods, just had a basic mp3 player from abroad, but after receiving this as a gift I couldnt live without it! Ipods are nowhere near as complicated as I imagined them to be! This 80gb classic is very slim and light, I dont have a clip holder or anything but can walk around with it in my pocket without noticing. So slim it fits in any handbag, and has great battery life too. I've never actually let it run down dead but in the past have left it on for 3 entire nights to fall asleep to and still not ran out. Also used it a lot on holiday and still had battery left when I came home. I-tunes really easy to get to grips with as well, I'd say its actually much easier than uploading tracks to a basic mp3 player without its own program. Everything is so self-explanatory. One thing I wouldnt recommend though is the genius feature - it has for me come out with some very random choices, not the type of songs I'd usually put together in a playlist, but maybe thats just my taste in music! What I also love about this ipod is I can use it in the gym and it never skips no matter how much I run and jump around. I always thought the standard headphones were sufficient, but after losing them and finding a better replacement, the difference in the sound quality is amazing, so I'd say headphones do have a big impact, not just the mp3 player itself. But if you just want a bit of music on the train to work/ to listen to while your jogging or for holidays the standard Apple headphones are more than good enough! Its also very resilient. I dropped mine in water and thought it as broke when it wouldnt turn out, but it dried out by the next day and works fine now! I would aslo say, maybe most importantly, 80gb is a lot of memory.. Definitely more than I need, so unless you want thousands of songs go for a similar model (I definitely prefer the classic to the nano, the nano is a bit too small for me!) but with less memory! Summary: Does everything I need it to do. I probably dont use it to its full potential though
