Still Going Strong... (Apple iPod mini 4 GB)

Advantages: Durable, Easy to use.

Disadvantages: Diminished battery life, have experienced connectivity issues.

I've had my iPod mini since '05 and it's still going strong. Since buying my mini I've "upgraded" twice to other ipods (both video models) which have both broken. I therefore find myself walking to work everyday listening to my mini, even though I do own two more advanced models.

There are, however, a couple of issues that I feel I must raise. Firstly, I've had connectivity issues in the past, that is to say that I've plugged the iPod into the PC and it hasn't been recognised by iTunes. These have almost always been mysterious yet easy to solve by updating the iPod software.

Secondly, I've noticed that the battery life isn't what it used to be, I think that I'm probably getting about 3-4 hours out of it whereas when it was new I was getting more like 5-6 hours. Still, this is to be expected with a rechargeable battery over time.

For me, the best thing about this product is its durability, I've dropped it alot, got it wet and used it in extremely cold weather and had no problems with it's operation.

If my mini stopped working tomorrow I would probably choose to buy another mini over a more expensive, higher capacity iPod simply because I know that it wont let me down.
