Advantages: Cheap reliable and durable

Disadvantages: Games are abit of a letdown

I have the aqua blue version of the second generation 4GB IPod, I have had the device for just over 2 and a half years. The iPod is aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, small but durable. I pods have always been a must have accessory and I can see why there just so practical you can take them anywhere anytime and just upload new files at every opportunity.

I ve used my iPod for a whole variety of uses from just going training down the gym, commuting to and from college or just for lazing around the house.

In the box you get your basic equipment simply to get you up and running

IPod 4 GB
Apple earphones
Instructions
And a usb data cable
Apple stickers

The iPod is really easy to use as it features an up to date navigation scroll wheel, it allows you to change anything at the flick of your finger which is quite modern.

Looks wise apples products always seem to be ahead of the game providing an ultra thin but durable item which looks aesthetically pleasing to any one's eyes. The iPod fits nice and snug into your hand despite your size and it's nice to see that apple have taken this into account and have allowed for size variations without destroying its overall appearance.

The iPods battery is well tidy; its supports loud music over a prolonged period of time and despite having mine for over two years it is showing no signs of slowing down or reducing its overall capability.

It comes with a variety of games such as solitaire, brick, parachute and a music quiz which is based around your music collection.

Transferring the music to the iPod is simple and easy with the use of iTunes which can be download from apple as this generation didn't come with a support disc. It's also fast and reliable.

Once your music is on the device everything gets put into genres, albums, artists etc so that you can access your music from any type of folder. You can also make use of a search engine which allows you to find those hard to reach songs.

The headphones supplied are just there to make the package they are alright but not amazing I would recommend to invest in a set of decent ones. I run jvc's gummy's which when used with the iPod provide brilliant sound quality.

Downside is that although the price is reasonable you tend to find that any apple extra support features such as cases, chargers are quite costly for what they are so it may be useful buying second hand or even the non branded items as they are just as good.

Also the games supplied are pretty basic and they are a bit of a letdown when you have played them once perhaps twice.
All in all I would recommend one of these devices to anyone as they have all sorts of colours, sizes and specs to suite anyone and everyone.
