Advantages: Sleek design, style, and excellent sound quality
Disadvantages: The need to puchase accessories
Having heard mixed reviews of the reliability of various aspects of the iPod nano, I ordered this product with some apprehension.
However, this 2nd generation nano has refuted all the negative claims made against the nano.
The design is exactly what you would expect from Apple - sleek and stylish, minimalistic and practical, something to be proud to be seen with! This iPod is surprisingly easy to use, with a simple click wheel system which is very responsive to the touch.
Uploading songs from iTunes is done at the touch of a button, and organised on the iPod just as they have been on iTunes, including automatically created playlists such as 'Most Played'.
The 8gb memory means that the iPod can store up to 2,000 songs - plenty for even avid music collectors. And, most importantly, the sound quality is simply flawless. CD quality sound (as if played on top spec hifi of course!) without any skips or jumps, no matter what activity you are undertaking.
And the flaws that have been mentioned for the 1st generation iPod? Well, on this model the battery life (extended to 24hrs) is outstanding, and I have been pleasantly surprised by it. The surface does appear to be less easily scratched than the former iPod, although I have purchased a skin in order to ensure the beautiful look is preserved.
It would be possible to spend a fortune on accessories, and apart from the skin I would also recommend a mains charging adaptor, particularly if you intend to travel.
To summarise - if you are considering an iPod, wait no longer! This product will not disappoint . . . enjoy!
