Advantages: Easy to use, clear screen, reliable

Disadvantages: After two years, it seems to be giving up.

Everyone owns an ipod right? If not, why not? I've tried lots of different MP3 players over the years and have not yet found one to better the apple ipod. The model that I own and have used for over two years is this, the second generation 8gb nano.

I bought my girlfriend the first generation nano (review to follow) quite a while before this one was available and was very impressed with it. When it came to the time when I wanted to replace my trusty old mini-disc player (R.I.P.) I knew there was only one option; the ipod nano.

Having a massive amount of music, I knew I would need the largest amount of memory available, at that time 8gb. The 8gb ipod nano was only available in matt black. I was happy with that as it was the colour I wanted anyway.

Seeing as I'd helped my girlfriend with her ipod, I was familiar with itunes and how it worked so I had no problem on getting my tunes onto my ipod. The one thing which I was suprised at was the the ipod did not come packaged with itunes, customers are expected to download it form the apple site. I don't have my laptop connected to the internet so this would have been a major problem if my laptop had not come with itunes pre-loaded.

The ipod nano is very easy to use with a large, bright clear screen and easy to operate menus.

As I stated at the beginning of the review, my ipod has lasted over two years and I am only now starting to encounter problems. Every so often, it decides to re-set itself. This seems to be a random occurrence. I think it might just be time to send this to the scrapheap in the sky. I do know that it'll be replaceed with another ipod though. In my eyes, you can't go wrong with an apple.

Summary: The best mp3 player on the market.
