First thing to mention is that five months ago I would never be writing this review, I couldn't understand why people brought Ipod's because you're spending out a huge amount of money for something you might not even be able to fill.

Recently at college though, I've been messing around on my mates Ipod and really enjoyed it. I thought it was much easier to turn on and easier to sort through your music. My mum has been having trouble to find things for me for Christmas so... along came the Ipod Nano.

Unlike most people I can't compare it really to other Ipod's as well as everyone else.

This is the newest (besides Iphone) Ipod in Apples Company; it's small but with one new idea: Video.
Now you can watch your favourite TV shows, video pod casts and your favourite movies and lots more. The Ipod has amazing picture quality and is completely gorgeous.

The Ipod comes in 5 different colours, the one I am reviewing it the cheapest, the silver.

Battery Life

On this one you can play up to 24 hours of music or up to five hours of video.
The only problem I have had with the battery life is if you play games, it goes quite quickly. This is not included in what they tell you on the internet, and the games are very addictive so beware.

Cover Flow

I think this is a new feature on this Ipod. Instead of browsing through the song list, you can choose cover flow. Here using the click wheel you can browse through your favourite albums and choose the album you want.

This is a good feature if you just copy all albums onto your Itunes and stick them onto your Ipod but if you are downloading mp3's separately like I am, it seems a bit pointless. However if I was putting all of my albums onto my Ipod, it's a quick and easy way of looking through and choosing the songs you want.

I think this is the main reason why people get Ipod's; it's a quick and easy way to sort your music and listen to it. Gone is the days where you have to go through over 100 songs just to find the one you want and in the process eating your battery, now you can use the click wheel and find the song in a matter of seconds. You can sort through your music by browsing the following categories:

Cover Flow
Play lists
Artist
Album
Songs
Genres
Composers

You can mix it up a little by shuffling the songs on the main menu. I had this on today in lesson and it was nice to listen to songs randomly than knowing what song was coming next.

Movies

You can buy movies from Itunes and put them on your Ipod Nano. You can watch up to 5 hours of movies which means you can probably watch two movies back to back.
This is a new before seen feature on Ipod's, before you didn't have video and now you can watch two movies back to back on a 320x240 pixel display that will just blow you away.

I know some people say how can you watch a movie on something so small, I haven't got the money to download a movie yet but I have got a couple of music videos and they are amazing. You forget you're watching such a small screen, it's amazing quality.

Tv Shows

Everyone has a favourite TV show, imagine being able to watch them wherever you want at any time. Well for under around £2 you can watch any episode of your favourite TV show whenever you want.
This is something I haven't taken up yet, we have Sky + so if I miss an episode of a show I love, more times than not it's been taped automatically.

It seems like a good idea and I think most people would love this little extra.

Pod casts

On this Ipod, Itunes has thousands of audio and video pod casts which you can sync to your Ipod and play them going along.

This is a free service so it's a very good idea, not for me though however. I prefer my own music than to listen to a pod cast.

Audiobooks

You can catch up with your reading wherever your Ipod goes. You can read books like Harry Potter and even Richard Hammond's biography. The Ipod remembers where you left off and leaves a bookmark in that place.
This is insanely expensive to buy; I don't think I'll ever take up this extra because it's just so expensive.

Games

I was amazed this Ipod actually came with games and one of them is really good. The I Quiz is a fun way to mess around and show your knowledge on your music, what the Ipod chooses and movies and even TV shows.
The Ipod also comes with two other games: Vortex & Klondike. You can also download a lot more games on Itunes.

We had so much fun playing the I Quiz today, it was amazing how many TV shows I have actually watched.

Photos

You can hold up to 7,000 photos on your Ipod, you can use the click wheel to scroll through the thumbnails and even view the photos in a slide show complete with music.
I have 20 photos on my Ipod so far, the picture quality is amazing and it shows my pictures beautifully. The only problem so far I have is it's not showing some of my pictures, this might be because Itunes made a mistake or that the pictures are too big for the Ipod. I'll add more when I know more.

On the Ipod Nano you get lots of extras including the following:

Calendars
Contacts
Clocks
Alarms
Games
Notes
Screen Lock
Stopwatch.

There's so much you can do extra on this Ipod, you can put all your contacts on your Ipod, you can see what times it is in places all around the world, there's a stop watch just in case you need it, also if you didn't want people to go on your Ipod you could set a screen lock and that way you'll stop all the people getting on, just don't forget the combination.

I'm quite proud to have this Ipod, it's the smallest one I have ever seen and fits into my pocket really snugly.

I brought mine from curry's at £99 and for an extra £50 I got extras worth at least another £80.
There is cheaper places where you can get this item, including Amazon. I think they are selling it a bit cheaper.
