Advantages: Small shape and size, easy to use, good quality

Disadvantages: Does not hold as many songs etc as larger i-pods, screen may be too small to watch films

I purchased my i-pod nano in June this year as I had just got a new job and was going to be commuting a fair bit and therefore I needed something to keep me entertained. I had not had an i-pod before and did not want to spend a lot on one so went for the nano which suited my needs perfectly.

The nano was £99.99 at Currys when i purchased it. It was silver in colour and very thin and small in shape (perfect to pop in handbag) and also came with the normal I-pod headphones.

The nano can be used in the same way as any other i-pod with a wheel which is used to select tracks and also control the volume. Once you get used to using the wheel it is easy to navigate around the different sections, such as albums, artists etc. I personally use the shuffle feature a lot as like to listen to different tracks.

I find the amount of memory on this just right for me as I can hold up to about 1000 songs on there. I currently only have around 600 songs on there so this leaves me room for more.

It is very easy to use i-tunes to put the songs on to the i-pod. I used this programme before I got an i-pod and therefore was used to using it but learning how to transport songs over was easy too. All you do is plug the i-pod in to your computer using the usb adaptor and first time it will ask you to register etc but after that you can add your new songs just by dragging them over.

I have also had a film on my i-pod. This did mean I had less room for songs but you could still have a selection of songs and a film on there. The film I downloaded from i-tunes and then downloaded on to my i-pod. It was easy to watch and the screen is adequate in size to do this. I wouldn't though recommend this size i-pod if you want to watch a lot of films as it is a fairly small screen and you can only hold one or two at a time.

I have not used the other functions such as photos but for someone who wished to hold their photos to show people this would be useful and it can hold up to 25,000 photos.

Overall if you are looking for a small and basic i-pod that does the job, then this is the one for you.

Summary: A great i-pod for those who don't need too much on it
