Advantages: cheaper, battery life and more memory

Disadvantages: useless features

There are a lot of new things this ipod has to offer, and a lot that I also think are pretty pointless too. However it certainly is the cheapest ipod nano on sale at the moment coming in at only £110 for an 8gb one whereas the previous nanos were around £140 for the same amount of memory.

At first glance it looks like apple have gone back to the 1st generation design which im quite happy with as I did prefer this shape to the more square generation 2 with the tiny click wheel.
However something which I still haven't worked out if I like or not yet is its rounded body, I suppose it does make it look a little bit sleeker but I did like the previous square edged ones.

A new feature this ipod has if the ability to turn on cover flow when you turn your ipod to the side. In all honesty this I pretty pointless, its hard to navigate through and it only does your albums so if you've got about 500 plus albums of there its really hard to find the song your looking for. It also means you need to have the picture of every album on. This might be a good feature to show off to your mates who only have the older nanos but when your on your own with it you'll never really find your self using this feature.
New games it has incorporates the movement of the nano into games such as a maze you have to turn your nano to get out of. This might be a good little novelty however you do look abit stupid if your on your own.

All in all its not much better than the old ones, however it comes in loads of great colours, you can now get it in 16 gb for the same price as the old 4gb ones were and it even lasts longer battery life. So if you have an old nano id probably just keep it, but if your new to the nano market then I definitely advise getting this one.

Summary: good but could have made it better
