Advantages: Good memory and features.

Disadvantages: iPod Classic 120gb can be bought for about another £40.

The Apple iPod has come a long way since the old monochrome screens when they were first introduced in 2001. The iPod Nano now comes in a variety of colours; silver, black, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red & pink. We bought my daughter the purple one for Christmas which has an amazing amount of capabilities. It plays music & video, stores the photographs from your computer, your contacts, and you can play games. It also works a tiny bit like a Wii controller. That is, that it can detect the way it is facing and turn the video around the way the player is facing. Some of the games also have motion-sensitive controls such as the built-in maze game. Bundled with the iPod you get the headphones and a USB lead to connect to your computer to charge & sync. You will need to install iTunes to transfer music & videos etc. You can also purchase content using this software.

Summary: Great MP3 player that is very good for beginners.
