I have to admit not being a fan of Apple at all. I detest their 'style over content' approach to most things that they make. I find their laptops to be not in the least user firendly and their phone (the iphone) to be well... suffice to say that I have a love hate relationship with it.

But the ipod is something different. As much as I would love to come on and really have a go at this little device, I just cant.

Yes it is very pretty, but it has not sacrificed any user features to allow for this. It is a real minimal design, with only a jog wheel to show for controls, but from this wheel (and central button) you are able to have complete control over your device.

What I like most about this, compared to the new 'touch' ipods is the simplicity of the controls. On a cold winter morning in Scotland, I can tell you that the last thing you want to do when walking to the train station is to take your hands out your pocket to skip tracks. This little gem of a device can be operated with one hand whilst in your pocket - try doing that with a touch ipod!

It is small, attractive and something that I love to hold and push its buttons... maybe it reminds me of my wife!

Summary: I hate having to tell people that I use an Apple product.
