Advantages: Overall great product

Disadvantages: iTunes restricted

I received this product for Christmas in 2009 and it is still fully functioning today. Though I broke and removed the glass screen, the LCD is still in tact and the iPod is still in working order. The only other issues are atheist ethic which are just through hard wear and tear. Apple products have stormed today's technological market producing innovative, creative and sustainable products which range from MP3 players to laptops and also introduced themselves into the tablet market, producing their own range of 'apps' which are unavailable on this device but can consist of games, social networking applications and also informative ones- in the last few years the 'apps' market via apple and android has had astonishing affect on society.

I received the purple model and the finish was fantastic, a metallic dark purple which was smooth and the LCD screen was bright. The best thing is that it can all be changed in the settings as they are extremely customisable- that ranges from the sound volume limit, you can apply different equalisers and also choose a setting to enable a 'shake to shuffle' which shuffles the song or album if you shake the iPod. All these features are good to customise the device to your needs.

Personally I use my iPod when I'm walking to work, going on a journey on my own, am waiting around or on my iPod dock at home and if you are waiting in a boring zone not only do ou have music but you also have a choice of three games. They are pretty standard as far as ability is concerned but they are pretty cool just to have a mess about on in your spare time.

To use it is pretty straight forward, having a circular scroller to navigate and a button in the middle to choose. On the scroller are also buttons to help assist music playback such as play/pause, back, next and menu. These help ease of use greatly. The scroller is used for sound management when the product is playing a song. There is a button at the top to lock the iPod so you can safely get on with your activities without interference.

With these iPods as opposed to the previous generations you may add pictures and videos, although you can't take them as it is the upgrade which has the camera it is always a great storage device.

In the box you receive headphones, the device and also a USB connector to charge it. This would be used to upload music and charge the device when it is dead. At first I found my battery appeared awful but after a while it seemingly got better! I was so happy I only charge it once a week if that.

The quality of this product is fantastic, it never let's me down and I recentlyoat it and bought the upgrade for £70 from cash converters and found it again so I have two and I know I won't need one for a while.

To obtain one it really isn't that expensive anymore, ranging between £60 and &90 and is guaranteed to last you a long time. Apple provide a one year warranty to ensure customer satisfaction.

I would recommend this product over any of the iPods as it is the one that has sustained the most damage and has not deteriorated in quality. Best mp3 I've ever owned. My only issue is that it is restricted to iTunes and can irritate if you plug it in somewhere without iTunes. Other than that great product!
